Esquire Girl Calendar collection, 1944-1954.

A collection of fully intact calendars along with their original wrappers. Most of these calendars are spiral bound and feature full color art reproductions for each month of the year. The calendars for 1944, 1945, and 1945 featured works of Alberto Vargas.

Illustrator; Los Angeles, Calif. Born in Peru and studied in Switzerland. Vargas moved to New York City in 1916, but did not reach prominence until he moved to Southern California in 1936, where he was employed to draw portraits for the major Hollywood studios.
